The Lemon Festival in Menton; a citrus spectacular!

From February 15th to March 3rd, 2020, come and enjoy the amazing attractions of the Lemon Festival in Menton! Unique in the world, this event welcomes more than 200,000 visitors every year to the Jardins Biovès and the Promenade du Soleil, very close to the Villa Genesis.
Giant citrus sculptures at the Lemon Festival in Menton
Each year since 1933, the Jardins Biovès have been adorned with citrus fruits for the Lemon Festival, one of the largest events on the French Riviera. It’s traditional for each year’s festival to be based around a theme, and in 2020 it will be ‘Festivals of the World’ that sets the tone. You can admire 12 awe-inspiring temporary sculptures representing the Notting Hill Carnival, Mexico’s Day of the Dead and ten more. No fewer than 140,000 tonnes of citrus fruits, 750,000 rubber bands and 15 tonnes of metal were required.
On February 15th, 21st and 28th, you can admire these stunning structures at night during the Gardens of Light. Admission is from 20:30 to 21:45 through the main entrance, opposite the Casino Barrière. An unmissable dreamlike spectacle enhanced by magnificent artistic lighting and the mysterious light of the Moon.
Parades on the Promenade du Soleil
The Lemon Festival of Menton will also be held on the Promenade du Soleil and feature some very vitamin-rich parades. On February 16th and 23rd and March 1st, you can cheer the Golden Fruit Parade from 14:30 to 16:00. In the procession will be 10 citrus decorated floats, folk groups and, of course, a lot of confetti! On February 20th and 27th from 21:00 to 22:15, you can also enjoy the spectacle of night-time parades

The Nice Carnival will be held from February 15th to 29th with the theme of ‘King of Fashion’. Flowers have pride of place at the Mimosa Festival in Mandelieu and the Violet Festival in Tourrettes sur Loup. Get ready to party!
